Liam Martin, Huibin Lin and Nicolette Prashad honoured with 2025 Centre Awards

Congratulations to this year's Centre Awards recipients, Liam Martin, Huibin Lin, and Nicolette Prashad! 

Liam Martin was awarded the 2025 John Edwards Award for overall outstanding performance in the MA program.

Huibin Lin was awarded the Richard Ericson Award for their paper "The Affective Politics of Police Mediation: Renqing, Resistance and Governance in Grassroots China" which is currently in the last stage of being published in a journal. Huibin is a PhD candidate supervised by Professor Sida Liu.

An Honourable Mention for the Richard Ericson Award went to first-year PhD student Nicolette Prashad for "Representations of resistance: the RCMP and C-IRG‘s representations of Indigenous land defenders’ dissent against the Coastal GasLink Pipeline on Wet’suwet’en territory."

On behalf of the CrimSL Graduate Admissions & Awards Committee, CrimSL Graduate Coordinator Professor Beatrice Jauregui presented awards at the 2025 Fall Convocation Reception on October 27, 2025.
