Our programs are designed to educate students for careers in teaching or research, as well as for jobs in which the ability to evaluate criminological or sociolegal research critically is necessary or desirable.
Recent graduates from the MA program have found employment in a wide range of occupations in the criminal justice system, government and private business. They are researchers, probation and parole officers, correctional workers, facilitators, agents of social service organizations, and consultants in private business.
Graduates of the PhD program have enjoyed great success in the academic job market. Most former PhD students are now employed in academic positions in universities and colleges. Some have become senior policy analysts and research officers in government and private business.
