Awards & Scholarships

There is a wide range of scholarships and awards available to University of Toronto undergraduate students. A full list and descriptions of scholarships and awards offered by U of T may be found on Award Explorer.

Colleges in the Faculty of Arts & Science also offer financial advising and bursaries, which are grants to cover unexpected financial need that you do not need to repay. Contact your College Registrar’s Office for information about financial support available to you.

The Centre for Criminology and Sociolegal Studies offers a number of awards, bursaries and scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students.

Bursaries and scholarships

The awards below do not require an application; students who meet the criteria will be considered for each award. Recipients are typically notified in the fall term.

Awarded to a student enrolled in the Criminology and Sociolegal Studies program at the Centre for Criminology and Sociolegal Studies on the basis of financial need.

Awarded to one or more domestic or international students in the Criminology and Sociolegal Studies program at the Centre for Criminology and Sociolegal Studies who demonstrate financial need. Academic merit will also be considered.

Awarded to one or more students enrolled in the Criminology and Sociolegal Studies program at the Centre for Criminology and Sociolegal Studies who achieve a high CGPA of 3.5 or greater. Recipients must be enrolled in at least four (4) half-credit CRI courses during the relevant academic year to be considered.

Awarded to a domestic or international student entering the fourth year of their Major or Specialization in the Criminology and Sociolegal Studies program at the Centre for Criminology and Sociolegal Studies. The award recognizes outstanding academic excellence. Minimum CGPA requirement is 3.5.

Awarded to the student with the highest mark in the Criminal Justice course (CRI210H1).

Other Awards

Awarded to one or more, full-time or part-time undergraduate students in the Criminology and Sociolegal Studies program in Years 2, 3 or 4. Winners are chosen at the discretion of panel judges from the Centre for Criminology and Sociolegal Studies based on submitted research papers.
