Congratulations to Valentin Pereda (left) and Julius Haag on their successful defences

Congratulations to CrimSL’s newest doctors, Valentin Pereda Aguado and Julius Haag!

On June 16th, Dr Pereda defended his thesis “Processes of Violence in Mexico's Organized Crime Groups: A Study of Los Zetas.” His supervisor was Associate Professor Matthew Light.

On June 29th, Dr. Haag defended his thesis, “A Qualitative Examination of the Impacts of Police Practices on Racialization and Marginalized Young People in Toronto.” His supervisor was Professor Scot Wortley.
