Biography : 

Joana Jabson is a PhD student at the Centre for Criminology and Sociolegal Studies at the University of Toronto. Joana completed her Honours B.A. at the University of Toronto in Criminology and Sociolegal Studies, and finished her Masters of Public Policy, Administration and Law, and Graduate Diploma in Justice System Administration at York University. Joana’s research interests include understanding the intersection between gentrification, crime and displacement among racialized and low-income communities. 

Joana is currently a Senior Program Advisor for the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor where her work focuses on improving the delivery of care to clients within the correctional system. Joana has worked on different projects focused on program design, implementation, evaluation, strategic and operational support within the Ontario correctional system.
