The Works in Progress series is presented by the CrimSL Research Cluster for the Study of Race and Inequality. This series of workshops is provides graduate students and post-doctoral fellows opportunities to present their works in progress and receive feedback from their peers.

About Amy Choi

Amy Choi is an incoming PhD student at York University in the Department of Sociology. She completed her master’s degree last year at the Centre for Criminology and Sociolegal Studies. She is interested in exploring internalized racism, critical consciousness, and the model minority myth among East Asian Canadians. She currently works as a Senior Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. She plans to leverage her research in Anti-Asian racism in developing policies in the future.

A light lunch will be served in the Centre Lounge (2nd floor) at 12:00 pm. The lecture will begin in CG 265 at 12:30 pm.
