CrimSL welcomes Rebecca Melville as Centre Manager

February 1, 2024 by Patricia Doherty

We are pleased to welcome Rebecca Melville, who joined us as Centre Manager on February 1, 2024.

Rebecca comes to us with 13 years of experience in communications, operations, finance, and program management. Most recently, she served as the Director of Operations at a private career college specializing in animation, concept art, and illustration.

Rebecca is passionate about education. While completing her MA in Adult Education and Community Development at OISE, she worked at the Transformative Learning Centre in operations, administration, and events. After graduating, she volunteered there for several years more to help with events such as their "Spirit Matters" gatherings.

She is also deeply committed to fostering an inclusive working environment here at CrimSL.

I believe strongly in the importance of fostering inclusive working environments, where people feel valued, respected and that their ideas are being heard.

She is looking forward to her new role. She says, "Centre Manager seemed like the right kind of challenge; a role where I could do what I love (operations and financial management), but also could learn a lot and grow."

"I'm particularly intrigued by the fascinating work being done at CrimSL, and am looking forward to facilitating research and other work I believe makes a real, positive difference in the world," she says.

Away from work, Rebecca enjoys playing ball hockey, group game nights, solitary logic problems, reading, and sketching and painting. She also sings in a longstanding multi-generational family band. "I also really like eating cake," she adds.

I can't wait to meet everyone at CrimSL, to hear your stories, what you love about it, as well as your challenges in working here, and to learn what you hope CrimSL can accomplish in the coming years.

Please join us in welcoming Rebecca!
