On June 24th, Professor Audrey Macklin participated in the American Society of International Law's conversation on the Oxford Handbook of International Refugee Law, hosted by the ASIL International Refugee Law Interest Group.

"The Oxford Handbook of International Refugee Law is a ground-breaking new book. Its 65 chapters, involving 78 authors, critique the status quo in international refugee law and set the agenda for future research.
Bahati Kanyamanza will engage in a discussion with one of the Handbook’s editors, Professor Jane McAdam, and one of its authors, Catherine Dauvergne. They will discuss issues ranging from resettlement of refugees, the on-going challenges faced by women seeking protection, and displacement in the context of disasters and climate change.
- Catherine Dauvergne is the Provost and Vice-President Academic at Simon Fraser University, Canada.
- Bahati Kanyamanza is a trained teacher and lawyer, with extensive experience in non-profit leadership and advocacy. As a 14-year old, he fled the Democratic Republic of Congo and spent the next 18 years as a refugee in Uganda. He was resettled to the United States in 2016.
- Ian M Kysel is a Visiting Assistant Clinical Professor of Law at Cornell Law School, where he co-directs the Asylum and Convention Against Torture Appellate Clinic.
